NZ IS A COMPANY WITH A LONG HERITAGE IN COUNSELLING IN DRUG
ABUSE AND ALCOHOLISM
Care NZ has a depth of experience second to none in drug abuse
and alcoholism counselling, treatment and education for individuals,
groups, families and the workforce. The organisation is a fully-owned
operating company of the National Society on Alcohol and Drug
Dependence, a charitable trust. This Trust was established in
New Zealand nearly 50 years ago.

clinics with a network of counsellors throughout the

We
aso offer referrals to residential care as required.
Care
NZ run school drug and alcohol intervention treatment programmes
across schools in the Waikato and lakes districts (Rotorua and
Taupo).
In addition, in partnership with the Department of Corrections,
Care NZ has established extremely successful drug treatment
units in Wellington’s Arohata Women’s Prison and in Waikeria
Men’s Prison in the central North Island.
Over 2200 new clients every year see our drug and alcohol counsellors
and specialists throughout the country.
MANAGEMENT
Heading the team at Care NZ is Chief Executive Tim Harding who
brings extensive experience in the health and business sectors
to the role. Aside from his current position, he is also Chairman
of the New Zealand Drug Foundation and Chairman of DAPANZ (Drug
and Alcohol Professional Association of New Zealand).
