ALCOHOL AND DRUG
SELF-ASSESSMENT TESTS
The alcohol and drug use questionnaires included on
this site have been well researched. They are valid
and reliable for the studied groups of people but only
give an indication of problem areas
which may be present relating to alcohol or drug use.
The results do not constitute proof of the existence
of a problem.
Please consult an alcohol and drug counsellor if you
are concerned about your results in any way.
Note all results are totally confidential - no-one but
you is able to view the results unless you choose to
show them.
ALCOHOL
The Alcohol Use Identification Test (AUDIT) was developed
by a world health organisation collaborative project
in 1988. It gives an indication of problem severity
in three areas:
- The
harmfulness of your alcohol drinking patterns.
- How
much harm you are already experiencing.
- Whether
your alcohol drinking patterns indicate some physical
or psychological dependence.

DRUGS
The drug abuse screening test (DAST) was developed by
H.A. Skinner in 1982 and measures the severity of your
drug use or abuse in terms of psychological and physiological
dependence.
