‘What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people.’
I bring a voice that provides an alternative for young people and may encourage them to make other choices around substances.

Whanau

Concerned for a loved one?

The sad truth about addiction is that it doesn’t just affect the person using drugs or alcohol. Whanau, family, friends, partners and workmates can also all be impacted by someone else’s using and drinking.

We understand how heartbreaking it can be to watch someone self-destructing because of their drug and alcohol use. However, as much as you want to help, the reality of addiction is unless someone is ready and willing to do something about it they will continue using drugs or alcohol.

If they have made a decision to stop and find a different way of life it’s really important to encourage your loved one during this time.  At CareNZ we believe it is really important to include a person’s whanau/family and friends during the treatment process.

But remember recovery from addiction is a slow process, and changing years of destructive patterns will be tough and takes time.
