Addictions Counsellor / Programme Facilitator

CareNZ has been helping New Zealanders find recovery from addictions for over 60 years. As an organisation we are committed to offering our clients the very best treatment pathways possible within community settings.
We require an experienced Addictions Counsellor/ Programme Facilitator to work within our dedicated team who deliver four, 12 week Drug Treatment Programmes at Arohata Women’s Prison each year.
To be successful in this challenging and rewarding role you will be required to deliver our programme in a therapeutic environment, work from a strengths based solutions focused perspective. You will have strong empathy and be skilled in gender/trauma informed practice and motivational enhancement to support the women to make positive change and turn their lives around. You will have an understanding of tikanga Maori and Maori models of practice and its importance.
We welcome applications from qualified AOD counsellors who have a passion for alcohol and drug treatment and are committed to developing their knowledge and skill base in this important area.
The successful applicant will have;
- a qualification in AOD counselling, counselling
- experience in addictions counselling
- Full dapaanz
- Competence in te reo is an advantage
An ability to build, develop and sustain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is also important. No two days are the same so flexibility and adaptability are also key.
CareNZ offers a competitive remuneration package dependant on qualifications, skills and experience which includes five weeks annual leave.
