‘What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people.’
Helping other people warms my heart, and I’m really passionate about it. I felt like I’d screwed up but CareNZ helped me without judgment and put me in the right direction.

Treatment Programmes

Not all of the following services are available in all of our clinics, but CareNZ offers a wide range of treatment programmes.  For more information and details on our treatment programmes click here.

Personal Counselling

Personal Counselling is offered at all our clinics. One-on-one interaction is the foundation of all treatment and it is from this ongoing counselling that your recovery journey really begins. It can include full alcohol and drug assessments, assessments for court – as well as referrals to other services as appropriate.

Group Interaction

Many people find the idea of going to a group session really frightening. Often it’s in a group environment where people can make the most progress – because it’s not just you and your counsellor at work – but the whole group.

Intensive Out Patient Group (IOP)

In a nutshell, the IOP is an abstinence-based programme that runs three-days-a-week over an eight-week duration.

Schools Programme

Our school programme offers a safe, non judgmental environment for young people to stay in school and get help with problems they are having with alcohol and/or drugs.

Driver Programmes

These programmes gives people who have been disqualified from driving , and/or are repeat drunk drivers, an opportunity to get their licence back by attending our driver awareness education courses.

Corrections Programmes

CareNZ’s DTUs (Drug Treatment Programmes) are a lifeline for prisoners who can start their journey of recovery while serving their time. Since opening our original DTU at Arohata Women’s Prison in 1987, we now delivers eight prison-based programmes throughout the country.
